Yes, it's poke salad, poke weed, poke salat, or poke berry plant. The plant itself is attractive, especially once the berries form and turn purple. And some people do eat the leaves after boiling them several times and pouring off the water. However, it is toxic. And the birds will plant it all over your yard if you don't remove it.
