Aside from some small grammar/punctuation errors, the only part I really didn't care for was the "would make ice shiver" part. I know it sounds silly, but there are times when you read something like that and it just seems off or comical. Sometimes a simple adverb will work better than a flowery phrase. I hear your voice developing but it is stressed by your pacing (the rhythm). Keep your personal feel of character/and her thoughts, in one sentence. So you have the story, then as an aside, her feeling or thought. Or, change your style and incorporate your voice style into the dialogue only- as character. It is ok for a first effort, but you must learn how to write better. Try reading it out loud into a recorder in order to hear the rhythm, the pace, and you will probably hear where you need to improve your style. It does not quite get choppy, but it stumbles. The grammer needs to be improved. EX: (at the bottom) "This time a man's voice but this did not make her relax, she knew that voice." If you look at the sentence, it is not a proper sentence at all. I realize writers can put in improper sentences, but this is not an example of that. Your style has gone from personal to romantic to objective story. Pick one and stick with it. Read it aloud and record it, or have someone else read it aloud. You will hear where you need to rewrite. Many new writers have a few voices in their work, just as learning to sing, you will have a few voices come out, all weaved together, just as each part of your personality does a version. That is normal, until you pick one. Write the story from each style and voice, and you may be surprised that the talented "voice/style" in your may not be your favorite. Only you can judge what is good for the listener. Remember that a writer writes for themself, but you hear it back like a listener. Once you have written it, it is no longer yours. Surrounding her, were a crowd of bustling people increasing by the minute-all straining to do whatever was necessary to find out what all the commotion was about. Slowly, she glanced around only to find unrecognizable faces, all with the face of shock and disbelief as to what they were staring at, while chatting with their friends or unknown strangers to find out the newest information about the event like ladies in a hair salon on a saturday night relaying all their gossip. The street was now covered in a blanket of darkness, obscuring peoples vision as they mindlessly wandered and shoved even closer to the current event. Several cars lined the drive-way, a mirage of different colours surrounded by endless acres of grass, which now resemblanced tyre tracks due to careless drivers. The wail of the sirens, over the past few minutes has increased significantly, and she quickly hesitated to what the polices action would be after they had investigated the current scene. BOOM! The mighty sound echoed across the street and ricocheted off the broad, burly trees resulting in many outcomes: many people rushed out of their houses to see what had created the noise ; it created a air of unsettled ease: and countless high pitched screams and gasps as everyone's eyes were locked and sustained on one target : her house. Her gaze drifted up, and the sight that acknowledged her resulted in her weeping furiously into her own hands. As she slowly started to look, she witnessed it all again. Her one pristine and luxurious house, with spotless white marble wall and delicate chandeliers, accompanied by a garden with exquisite and petite flower, bursting with blossom, casting serenity and peace inside whoever looked at this house, had mercilessly become a dilapidated and burnt house, emblazoned with a fury of one massive fire, engulfing the contents of her home and possessions, not giving a care to who it might affect. I dreamed that I was in Oxford - which happens to be located near to where I live. It was a pleasant summer's day and I was in the grounds of a manor house or suchlike on a lovely lawn and the atmosphere was very relaxed and 'civilised'. It was a public place and there were about 20 other people there dotted about, relaxing and enjoying the day. In the direction in which I was looking there were no obstructions such as houses or trees to obscure my view and as I looked across the lawn and up into the sky I saw a real white cruise liner 'floating' between and above some clouds. The sun was glinting off it and it was a sunny, happy and 'clean' image. Though I couldn't see anyone on the ship because of the scale (it was not large enough) I knew that there were people on it. I was startled and knew that this proved the existence of another world usually hidden from view but operating in parallel to ours, with people living just as we do. I wondered about the possibility of the usual barrier between our world and theirs being somehow absent by a freak accident- that perhaps it was a mistake that I was seeing it or that now was the time for our world to have it's existence proved at last. Then I decided to take a look around me at the other people present and saw that a few of them had indeed seen it too as they were still looking up at the same spot in the sky as I had just been. My reaction to this was to be pleased that there would be at least a few other people who would be able to back up my account and with whom I could share later discussion with and draw the inevitable conclusion with that there was indeed an other world co-existing with our everyday world. Any ideas?

Custom Wedding Gown Designers in Ohio, Indiana, or Michigan?

I found a lady on the website etsy who makes custom wedding dresses for people. You give her your size, what you want, and she can make almost an exact replica of a dress that would be way more expensive if you bought from the designer. She's very good. But she's taking a break because she's having a baby, so she won't be around to help make the wedding dress that I have my heart set on. I would much rather go, meet them in person, and then get fitted, so then the dress would really be just what i want. She lived about an hour from where I lived, so it wouldn't have been a big deal for me to drive there and get everything done. But now that she's taking this break, I'm in need of a new designer/dress maker. I have practically what I want in mind, I just really would like it to be handmade especially for me and not be so expensive because it will lack the designer label. I live close to the tri-state area, so anywhere in Michigan, Ohio, or Northern/Northeastern Indiana would be convenient. I just need someone who makes wedding dresses. I want options and possible prices. I won't be getting married for about a year or so, but if I'm having the dress actually MADE instead of just ordered and fitted, then I want to give myself (and the designer) plenty of time to finish it. I need help with my 5 year old son.?

My son is going to be 5 years old next month and all he does is cry/ whine all day long, every day. You cant say anything to him or he cry's. If you tell him not to do something he will start to whine and once you tell him if he doesn't relax or he will go to his room he crys like if someone is beating him up. Boyfriend advice, please help?

Me and my boyfriend are almost in our mid 20's and we broke up two weeks ago. We have seen each other for short periods of time and when we did it was obvious that we missed each other. Last night on the phone, I begged him to take me back since he hasn't made the move yet for some reason. He said he won't take me back because I deserve someone better than him and should find someone to fulfill all my wants and desires. I asked why he was doing this to me and he said it was because he has been a bad boyfriend and can't be who I want him to be. The problem is I love him and don't want anyone else and see myself with him forever. After crying for an hour and a half on the phone, I finally asked if there was a glint of hope we could get back together and he said yes there was. Insomnia - oh I suffer from it and loathe it. I've counted sheep and God knows what else. I was arrested for DUI in Kentucky where I was attending college. I went to court and they suspended my driving privledges for 90 days and I attended alcohol classes, etc. in KY. I got my driving privledges back and Indiana, where I'm licensed, says that they are suspending my license fo another 90 days. Can they do this consecutively? I'm having a difficult time finding out how to get a hardship license in Indiana now as well since my conviction was in Kentuky during the school year.

How to deal with my anger?

After being an only child for 14 years my mom had 2 children. Right now one is 2 years old and the other one is one year old. This would make a really good story but what you have written could have been said in two sentences. You started OK with build up etc although I have to tell you crows do not fly at night so try an owl - and then you rush headlong and complete it without further build up or climax. You need a twist such as they walked through the cemetery together talking about various things and when they reached the other side the strange girl made some remark and was suddenly no more. Just a thought and I am sure you could think of something better. Good luck with your story and if it is based an a local happening then it makes it all the more creepy and scary.

you put "You no you can..." but it should have been spelt KnoW with a K at the beginning and a W at the end. secondly, your description is good, however you don't need that much description on the characters. the reader should create a picture in their mind of what they look like, without needing description. however, i like how there is lots of questions that have not been answered, it make the reader want to read on to find out more. this would be good as a prologue. over all, this is a good start. if it was published, i would read it. keep going :)

So last week, my 5 year old son was doing a concert for school. They were all happy and singing until he decided that he needed the toilet there and then. He couldnt hold it and peed himself. There could be a possible chance that this girl likes you as you like her but you have to also consider the other possibilities. It's all well and good that she may like you but you've got to take in the fact that she has a boyfriend whom she has been with for a long time. Would you really want to get in between that? And, as you've said, this boyfriend is moving away to Australia and she has told you that she won't be moving with him, could there be a possibility that she's trying to get close to you because she doesn't want the fact that her boyfriend is moving away to hurt as much if she has developed feelings for another? So, my advice is that you leave it for a while. Move on would be a very sensible and noble choice. Just be a friend for her, comfort her when her boyfriend moves away and hope that maybe she'll want to progress to more with you once everything has passed. I hope for the best.

My dog barks fiercly when I leave the room?

I've had my dog Kya now for about... 9 months now and shes.. 9 months old. We're very close and she spends more time with me then anyone in the house. look at the positives, don't be so negative, have you tried pro active? that's what i use and it works really well, if you don't like your eyebrows, fix them! depending on how old your sister is, maybe she can help you? i do the same thing, i always can find something i don't like about myself, but i make the best of what i have, if i don't like something, i fix it. when you look in the mirror, think of all the great things about you!

My sons father is not involved in his life, he might see him once a month iff that. he gave me 80 dollars the beginning of may but he doesnt usually help out he doesnt buy him diapers or anything. Why did my brothers friend kill himself when he had friends and was a popular guy?

Sometimes the people that seem the happiest to us are the one's that are the saddest inside. They will try to seem happy so nobody knows the pain they're feeling inside. I know this because this is how I act sometimes when I'm very sad. People would never know it. But then I heard this guy say to a friend once yeah people that always seem happy are the ones that kill themselves. Some people are upfront with their unhappiness and wanting to kill themselves and others lock it deep inside. My guess is this guy even though everything looked great on the outside, nothing looked good on the inside. You never really know what's going on inside of someone's mind unless they talk about it. I'm very sorry for such a horrible loss of such a wonderful person. All we can do is pray he's happy now and is with God in heaven. God bless you for caring so much! Wow, your story sounds really good. The only thing that I would suggest to improve is to make Amber not make so many exclamations. I guess it does make sense though, seeing as she's locked in a cage and all, but still I would suggest to maybe cut out, "We can (line 36)" and have her only say, "I know we can!" And also on line 42 to have her say "I'll kill you," rather than "I will kill you."

If my stepson is being abused can I take him away?

My stepson lives with his mother in Indiana. His father, our 3yr old and myself live in New Mexico. It has come to our attention that his mother is taking care of three girls ages 3,5, and 7 and has a newborn of her own. My stepson is 7 and I think it is unappropriate for him to be living with girls not related to him so close in age. But what bothers me is that since she has all these other children to look after she is neglecting our son. He has to fix his own food, he is not in any sports. This probably isn't that serious but I think it would be better for him with us. We own our home both have jobs, he has his brother, he would get more attention. We don't have a court order in place for custody or visitation. Is it possible to just bring him here, and make her fight for custody to get him back?

8 week old black lab with parvo please help?

i have a 8 week old black lab and i took him into the vet on monday and they said he tested positive for parvo. Despite t.V. coverage, Police are only required to read you your Miranda Rights after you are arrested but before you are questioned. Most police will question everybody. Like, "do you know why I pulled you over?" You did the right thing in cooperating with the police. Being a minor there won't be much of a deal made about this. If they let you go with out any paper work or date to appear in court that just means that the charges have been dropped. They probably called your parents and will leave the punishment up the them this time. That too is standard procedure. However, be forewarned, that next time they will also use this incedent against you.

Feria will make it more blue, but the problem with Feria is it is a metallic dye, which means you should only use Feria or metallic dyes to dye your hair afterwards, or you could run into problems with normal dyes like Garnier giving you bad color, dryness, weird results in general. Either one of these would work, but since the blue is going to fade fast anyway you're going to be coloring it often. I would personally go with the Garnier, it makes your hair come out less damaged imo.

Offer rewards when she does a good job.

first congratulations on the new baby :0) , he may be colic what type of bottle do you use or are you nursing if formula try the dr. brown bottles they are great if nursing he may not be getting enough to eat so you might have to either supplement with formula or pump a little more often to produce more milk. if this is not the issue and he is eating plenty he may have a gas bubble that really needs to come out trust me it may take a long time to get out ( with my son it seemed like an eternity) but it helped him calm down and even sleep longer. good luck to you and enjoy him they really do grow up fast mine is already 6 months old.

Hole in sump... oil ran out... engine stopped?

ok so my mum was on her way out to meet me at the farm in my brothers golf tdi, she hit a rock in the middle of the road, and didn't notice that there was a half meter wide oil trail behind her... she noticed the oil light on about 1/3 - 1/2 a mile down the road, and then it went out as she turned a corner. the engine then stopped. she started it again and pulled in to the side imediatley, and stopped it. she phoned me and i came out, i got under the car and found a 1 1/2 - 2 inch hole, and could see the crankshaft glinting in there. my question is - what are the chances that the engine is not totall screwed, and that i can just repair the hole or replace the sump, fill it with oil and have it running again... answers are most welcome from those who have had a same or similar problem, or those who have fixed it on sum1 else's car... How do I help my depressed friend?

Talk to her. I don't mean sit her down and have a long conversation about this. That might not be a bad idea, but there's a sneakier and potentially more effective way to go about it. Mention things here and there, seemingly at random and rather frequently. Tell her how awesome her hair looks today and what is she doing to avoid frizz in this weather, etc. Silly little things like that will build her confidence in her appearance. Include her whenever you spend time with your friends, ask her advise about things, try to "get into" something that she likes that you might not. If she feels like she's wanted and has something to contribute, she'll feel better about herself as a person.

Why Does my 5 month old child cry in her car seat?

Every time we make a road trip whether it's to the grocery store down the street or traveling are 5 month old starts crying in her car seat. I wasn't out after curfew but i was high but acted fine and we were in an empty school parking lot. It was just myself and my friend and his girl. I had to use the restroom and i parked kinda far from the car but i was just giving them some time. Is this normal for a 1 month old?

My bby is 1 month old and 5 days, he's a breastfeed baby but I've just started him on formula yesterday so he does both. Anyway at night he wakes up to eat so I breast feed him, burp, and change diaper. Then after words he's wide awake but when I try to put him to sleep he crys like he's hungry again so I feed him again burp and change. He's up for about 2-3 hr is this normal?? 8 week old Puppy crate training isnt going so well help!!?

i got him to like the crate, he goes in by himself i give him treats.. he quiet... but when i leave to go upstairs or go outside he goes crazy !!!!! he crys and crys and howls and even smacks himself against the crate.. i know that ur not suppose to take him out if hes crying , but he doesn't stop !!!!!!!! i need help i don't know what to do, im going by time and extending it each time like one day its 10 minutes, next day 15 and then progressing it.

Taba looked up in the sky, 'John i miss you, i need you, i want you, Please dont be true dont tell me you are really gone?' she whispered as she looked up and the full moon shone in her eyes, Then all of a sudden 'TABA! WAIT' a voice called from beyond the beaches point. 'could it be? No it cant be, nope just cant be' but it was John was running down the beach in his suit, His eyes bright blue like the sea, cheeks as pink as The flower beads and his hair well up on end as usual. 'Taba, its not to late is it? Will you still be the one for me? I LOVE YOU' John looked deep in her eyes, they were glinting in the moonlight and shinning brighter than ever. 'Just on time' She smiled. Leaning back the two lovers kissed in the view of the sea, Picture perfect. The wind grew strong and John blew away. Taba Jumped up and looked around,'John' She looked around but nothing but the curtains in her window box were flapping in the breeze and the tv buzzed as it was on standby. It was true none of it happend and John was gone. Once asleep the room fell quiet as a stranger loomed from the conrner, it was John, well a spirt of John. He leant forward and gently kissed taba on the lips as he began to cry. It was time for him to leave, The four minuites were up.

It's good for a kid, but there is an awful lot of mistakes, too many to correct. Suggest you proof read it yourself and make corrections. Read it aloud to yourself or have someone else read it aloud - it's easier to find mistakes that way.

I can't deal with my mom anymore?

Do you have another family member like aunt, uncle, or grandparent you can talk with about this and maybe move in with? You need to get out of that environment. It is not good for you but you already know that. There are not a lot of options for a young lady of 14 other than talk to a relative about what is going on and see if they will let you move in with them or report this abuse to your school counselor. But if you do that, remember, your mom will be investigated and if your allegations are proven valid you will be removed from your home and put in another home like foster care unless another family member will be willing to step up and take responsibility for you. Other than that, you have no options except to put up with her until you are legal age to leave. What worries me the most is you staying there with her. She definitely has some mental problems and you don't need to be exposed to her actions all of the time. You sound like a very intelligent young lady and I am sure you will do what is best for you. aww, i understand how you feel. so first, what i think you should do is talk to her about it and see what she's doing. if you both have the same feelings for each other then you're in similar situations and you can talk about how you deal with it. realistically, this is the only girl you've ever really gotten to know, so you can't be sure if she's fantastic with you. i think you should just casually date around a little bit, talk to other girls, flirt, and just get to know them. you don't have to look for anything serious, but let yourself experience girls outside of this one. obviously you can still keep in touch with this girl, but just limit it to friends and try not to dwell on it too much (i know easier said than done...) but if you still really like her after giving yourself a chance with other girls, then maybe you should talk about a long-distance relationship. but in all honesty, you're still so young and restricting yourself to this one girl and dwelling on it can be a waste of your time. this is when you're supposed to be out discovering who you are & you can't do that if you're obsessing over a girl who, if you're going to be with her at all ever, you won't really have a chance to be with until college. just have fun, you're young, live it up and enjoy it!

Rite so I'm currently studying and I'm in the test on Monday. So I've studied all my history today and my mum still gives off to me of how I haven't done anything. So we have a argument and we shout she starts to cry ( she always crys when we argue ) then everytime we do argue she now says you cant do anything for the rest of the summer do you really think she'll do that ??(?(. This would make a really good story but what you have written could have been said in two sentences. You started OK with build up etc although I have to tell you crows do not fly at night so try an owl - and then you rush headlong and complete it without further build up or climax. You need a twist such as they walked through the cemetery together talking about various things and when they reached the other side the strange girl made some remark and was suddenly no more. Just a thought and I am sure you could think of something better. Good luck with your story and if it is based an a local happening then it makes it all the more creepy and scary.

There are still to this day lots of places that do not shift to daylight savings time. Stay with your real birth time and standard time. That is when you where born. Do not adjust to daylight, as where you were born it was not under that umbrella. That is the same as war time. Some places shifted to war time and other places did not.

HELP! Worried about my 15 day old kitten.?

Whatever you do, do not pick up her kittens and take them away from her. That makes her VERY uncomfortable. My cat recently had kittens. The kittens will usually come to the mom. If she gets up and walks away, she probably needs to go to the bathroom, or get something to eat and drink. Cats are super protective of their kittens. Also be sure and watch the mom around any other cats or animals. My cat started attacking my 20 pound cat. Even started attacking my german shepherd! Don't worry about the kitten not drinking though. The mom has got it all under controll. Try and get the kitten and mom in the same room, for a long period of time. Everything seems normal from what you wrote.

Buy a cat lead and harness and walk him outside. Let him go where he wants though. This should mean he doesn't have such a need to go outside but if it had the wrong effect he might want to go out all the time. It helped for me but every cats different!!!

How do you teach a puppy to sleep on his own?

We put him in his basket in his room downstairs and shut the door and then we go upstairs to our beds. He whimpers and crys for a while and then settles down. He will sometimes wake up again in the night and start crying again. The breeder gave us a 'puppy pack' with instructions when we brought him which said to let him cry and just leave him to sleep on his own. Is this the right thing to do, or not? Why is it that in one state (Indiana) you can still go to jail for less than nothing .5grams lol... The next state over Ohio you can have over 100 grams and only if even get a ticket. One state up Michigan is decriminalized. you can go to a compassion club and get it legally like California. I mean I know its up to the states but why does mine have to be the hardest? Look around Indiana. It just seems like nobody cares. I'm just saying your freedom is not something you can take for granted. People that live good lives that are important to others in their community should not be in jail for being connected to the earth. It doesn't matter who you are.
