Does fresh air help a newborn sleep longer?

my in laws including my boyfriend keep telling me to go for walks everyday cause it will help the baby sleep also cause she needs sun. Now I do go out but not everyday cause sometimes i just feel like staying home and it gets so hot and humid here, i don't feel like breastfeeding out there. they also keep asking me if i give my baby water, i tell them no there's enough water for her in my milk. now every time the baby crys he says " give her water, she's thirsty" omg shes drinking all day long how can she be thirsty?? what are your opinions on this???
